Killinkere CLG 10.2.2020

There was no jackpot winner in the lotto and the prize continues to climb and €10,600 could make someone’s valentine’s day! Numbers drawn were 1, 5, 9 and 27. Emmet Fitzsimons, Brenda Flynn, Myles O’Reilly and Philip Sheridan matching 3 numbers and winning their share of €100. Draw takes place every Friday night during the weekly bingo, play online via Smart Lotto or with usual tickets.

The Dinner Dance took place in Crover House on Saturday night last and it did not disappoint. There was plenty of style on show and the ladies were all looking well too! M.C. Aisling McCormack did a fantastic job as patrons were treated to messages from Killinkere supporters across the world prior to the highlight of the night the medal presentations. Making the presentations, Ultan Lynch and Patsy McDermott representing the 1982 team happily passed the baton to the younger guns. Emmet Fitzsimons walked away with the Player of the Year Award – some goal he scored in Breffni Park may have swayed it???? The ‘chieftain’ of 2019 Tony Ryan was a very deserved winner of the club appreciation award and tokens of appreciation were made to those who left their roles last year after much dedication and hard work. The night continued in style with plenty of dancing with Say La V. Sincere thanks to Crover House for the wonderful food and hospitality and a huge well done to the organising committee of Aisling McCormack, Martin McGovern, Anthony Brady, Eoghan Smith and James Mooney who pulled together a brilliant night and again showed what a brilliant team the Killinkere Gaels are.

The Vera O’Reilly Memorial 5k Run takes place this Sunday 16th February at 12 noon form Killinkere Leisure Centre. The run completes the Couch to 5k programme that has been ongoing for the last six weeks. This is a free and timed event and all are welcome. Anyone can join in to Run, Jog or Walk the important thing is to come along and give it a try – bring a friend. There will be refreshments and chat in the bar afterwards. Donations are welcome and will be in aid of Virginia Cancer Care. Lower pitch floodlights will continue to be on every Tuesday and Thursday night.
